Classes are taught with a Catholic worldview, grounded in both natural and revealed truth. Our mission is informed and driven by our motto, “Truth enlightens the intelligence.” The formation of the intelligence and character in these immutable truths of our faith leads to the conformity of the will properly ordered to God’s goodness.
A desire for God is written on the hearts of men. Man spends his life seeking a fulfillment that only God can provide. Genuine liberal education directs man’s freedom and is ordered to knowledge of the truth that man was created by and for God.
At Veritas Preparatory School, the student will be met with an atmosphere of community, acceptance, and belonging, enheartening the individual to blossom as a child of God and thus discover the ends or purpose that God has for every man’s life.
The religion program at Veritas Preparatory School is based on the curriculum guide approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in November 2007. Required in the course of studies at Veritas Preparatory School, the curriculum leads the student to an encounter with Jesus Christ and his teaching in order that they might come to know him and be transformed by him. “The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch, but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ.” (Catechisi Tradendae, 5)
In addition to the curricular requirements there is a school-wide emphasis on all types and forms of prayer, participation in weekly Masses, a monthly Holy Hour, annual retreats, and a yearly pilgrimage. In keeping with our commitment to the faith, all faculty and staff will make an Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium and a Profession of Faith each year.
As is proper to a classical school in the Catholic tradition, we underscore the importance of community service. Community service is expressed through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy as a witness to the love and mercy of God and as a means to answer the call to a New Evangelization.
