Student Life

Catholic Experience

Classes are taught with a Catholic worldview, grounded in both natural and revealed truth. A desire to know and love God is written on the hearts of all human beings. Hence genuine liberal education enables the young to find true freedom and fulfillment, in accordance with our motto: “The Truth will set you free.”

The religion program at Veritas Preparatory School is based on the curriculum guide approved by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.  The classes lead the student to an encounter with Jesus Christ in order that they might be transformed by him. As Pope St. John Paul II taught, “The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch, but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ.”

In addition to religion classes there is daily prayer throughout the day, weekly school Mass, and an annual retreat.  We emphasize the importance of community service as a witness to God’s love and mercy. Hence the students participate monthly in a food pantry, as well as volunteer in other ways in our Williamsburg community.

Student Clubs

3-D Design Club

Using the school’s 3-D printer, the students design and print various objects. Competitions encourage the students to use their ingenuity in creating functioning projects. The club provides a fun outlet for students’ creativity and imagination as well as their technological savvy.

Chess Club

In an entertaining, laid-back environment, appropriate for all levels, students study and play this time-honored game.  Through solving chess puzzles and especially through matches with other students, they learn strategy and sportsmanship.  As they advance, they play rated players and join tournaments for a greater challenge.

Both middle and high school students form a team that plays in a local rec league.  All levels of athletic ability are welcome!  It is a great opportunity for camaraderie for our students.
